Hi. I'm Robert Giddings, a software developer specialising in web based systems. I have been involved with the design and development of a wide range of web based systems, ranging from promotional "brochure" style websites for rural businesses to enterprise systems used my some of the world's biggest companies. During the day I work for the IT department of one of Norfolk's premier companies. This site promotes the services I offer on a freelance bases.

BESPOKE SYSTEMS

I can offer you a totally bespoke solution. This allows you to have far greater control over the user experience of your website, as you are not forced to fit to the layout and business processes of a product that has been downloaded from the internet and customized.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

I am a university educated professional software developer with several years of industry experience, some of which was gained while working for a Norfolk based web development company. I am also a member of The British Computer Society.

CLIENT FOCUSED DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

I employ an interactive, iterative process whereby the client becomes more actively involved in the development of the system, which evolves along the way, until the finished article is exactly what is wanted by the client.

CROSS-BROWSER COMPATIBILITY, ACCESSABLITY STANDARDS AND SECURITY

All websites built are cross-browser compatible. That is, the website will display and function properly regardless of the browser being used by the user, be it Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari.
And should it be required, websites built will attire to accessibility standards, whereby the site can be "read" by a Screen Reader for the visually impaired, and attire to distance selling regulations, which for example require the use of SSL encryption (https) for e-commerce websites.

HOSTING AND DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION SERVICES

I offer hosting and domain name registration services for both clients who require the building of a website and clients who simply require the setting up of a hosting account and domain name for a pre-existing website; the management of which can be migrated to me.

FAIR PRICING AND CONTINUED MAINTENANCE

I will only charge what is reasonably fair for the job with simple websites starting from a couple of hundred pounds. And once the initial build is complete, continued maintenance is available, chargeable at an hourly rate. Or if regular maintenance is required, a maintenance agreement can be put in place.
